All the words have been said.
The Cardinals are an achingly mediocre team that isn’t good on defense, isn’t capable of fundamental baseball (hello lead-off triple that can’t score!) and prone to a home run outburst at any time.
They’re bad at home (34-43!) and good on the road (48-33). They had 9 chances to get to 10 games over .500 and went 0-9. The 5th starter is a mess. Etc. Etc. Etc. Etc.
You know all of this.
Intimately.
And at some point you’ll still see this (or some iteration of this) in your timeline tonight, most likely several times:
Done with the Cardinals.

Riiiight.
Done, huh?
You’re not. I’m not. We’re not.
The Cardinals are 1 game out of a Wild Card spot with 4 games to go. You’re pot committed, my friend. Like it or not, you’re not done.
Made it through 158 of 162 games. Might as well see how it all plays out.
And if we’re going to see it through, why not take a look at 4 positive things that I came up with to make us feel better about the Cardinals 2016 season?
- The Cardinals are the 6th best team in the National League, currently. 6 out of 15!
- The Cardinals haven’t been eliminated from the playoff race and it’s SEPT 29!
- The Cardinals aren’t moving from St. Louis this upcoming off-season!
- The Cubs have not won the 2016 World Series yet!
See you guys on the internet tomorrow so we can all tell ourselves we’re done and not really be done all over again.
