This year, the Oakland Raiders will send three players to the AFC side of the NFL Pro Bowl. Two of those three players will all be starters for the AFC side, Lechler and Asomugha.
For Nnamdi, this will be his third consecutive start for the AFC and although his year has not been great, by Nnamdi’s standards, it was enough to line him up alongside Jets’ CB Derelle Revis once again.
Lechler will make his fourth consecutive trip and sixth overall trip after posting very Lechler-like numbers this year.
Richard Seymour will make his sixth trip to the NFL’s All-Star game but his first since 2006, after posting 5.5 sacks and a tying a career best 36 solo tackles with a game still to be played.
The Raiders also announced that defensive tackle Tommy Kelly, tight end Zach Miller, halfback Darren McFadden, and kicker Sebastian Janikowski were named as alternates, although it wasn’t divulged as to which level alternate. All would have a chance to be added to the team if someone drops out whether to injury, or as part of the team that goes to the Super Bowl.
