Raiders shelf Shaughnessy for the season
The Raiders have placed Matt Shaughnessy on Injured Reserve with a shoulder injury. His IR placement clears a roster spot for the acquisition of Carson Palmer via trade.

Shaughnessy suffered the shoulder injury in week three versus the New York Jets. It was never revealed exactly what the injury was, and up to this week it appeared Shaughnessy could be back. Hue kept a close eye on the injury week to week.

Shaughnessy’s starting spot has been listed as Jarvis Moss though Desmond Bryant has played extensively at defensive end as well.

The team also signed offensive lineman Zach Hurd to the practice squad after releasing running back Nic Grigsby on Tuesday. Hurd and Cole Pemberton along with defensive lineman Jay Ross all worked out on Monday.

Also appearing at practice on Wednesday was the recently signed safety Chinedum Ndukwe, wearing #44. Jerome Boyd was released to make room for Ndukwe.
