Raiders sign Baby Howie-Chris Cooper

The Oakland Raiders announced that they have signed unrestricted free agent defensive lineman Chris Cooper. Cooper was originally a sixth round selection of the Raiders in 2001.

Cooper was affectionately known as “Baby Howie” upon his arrival for his resemblance to Raider hall of famer Howie Long. However, he never reached anywhere near that status. After being linked to the Balco scandal he was traded to the Dallas Cowboys. He only played two games in Dallas before he was released.

He played for the 49ers, Seahawks, and Cardinals. He was last in the NFL in 2007. He spent 2009 with the California Redwoods of the UFL.
