The Raiders' secondary already looks remarkably different from 2012's version and will likely look very different, again, next season.

Reggie McKenzie continued on his trend of signing players that have flashed skills in the NFL in the past but, for a variety of reasons, were no longer wanted by their previous teams.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Raiders signed former Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins to a 1 year deal.  Terms were not yet released.

Initially, it was reported, Jenkins wanted a 2-year deal but after seeing what the market was offering he chose to go with a 1 year "prove it" deal wth Oakland.

Jenkins is a 6 year veteran and a former first round pick.  He had started 48 games in 5 years with Dallas although he only started 2 games last season.

As an interesting side note, Jenkins' signing also continues the Raiders trend of signing players that were not born in the US.  Jenkins was born in Nuenburg, Germany.

The Raiders currently have 7 defensive backs under contract for 2013.  Only one of those defensive backs, Safety Tyvon Branch, is signed beyond this season.
