Raiders sign DE/OLB LaMarr Woodley

Raiders sign DE/OLB LaMarr WoodleyThe Raiders signed their second pass-rusher of the day, signing LaMarr Woodley this afternoon, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The deal is reported to be two years and have a max value of $12 million. Guaranteed money is not yet known.

Woodley has played OLB in the Steelers 3-4 scheme but will likely play many snaps at DE for the Raiders, who typically play more 4-3 than 3-4 base alignment.

The Raiders may also work more 3-4 looks into their 2014 playbook.

Woodley is very talented but has struggles with injuries the last 3 seasons. Even so, he still achieved 5 sacks last season for Pittsburgh. Lamarr Houston, the Raiders best pass rusher last year, achieved only 1 more, ending with 6.
