Today it was announced that Manny Ramirez and David “Big Papi” Ortiz won Silver Slugger Awards for their prowess at the plate.
The Louisville Silver Slugger award is given annually to the best offensive player at each position in each league. Winners are picked by major league managers and coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own players.
For Ramirez, it is his 8th consecutive Silver Slugger and 9th overall. Big Papi won his 3rd consecutive and 3rd overall. Each of them earned a $100, 000 dollar bonus. If they can’t find a way to spend the money, I am sure I can help them out.
