Rams Hard Knocks: 5 best moments and takeaways from Episode two

1. William Hayes is hilarious

Apparently, Hayes really doesn’t believe in dinosaurs but does believe in mermaids. If you want an argument about something from a guy who refuses to back down, look no further than Hayes when it comes to his belief on those two topics.

2. Once again, Jared Goff again looked good throughout Hard Knocks

Even with some struggles during the preseason opener, Goff still looked strong throughout the episode. Specifically, he seemed to do well during practice, and the focus was mainly on the good throws that he made during the game. Even with that said, there’s reason for excitement when it comes to the No. 1 pick.

3. Fisher’s response to Jared Goff throwing the interception was worth noting

You know the coach is heavily invested in his quarterback when he gets hit, throws an interception and Fisher’s response is ‘get up Jared, get up.’ Fisher cared very, very little about that interception, rightfully so.

4. Defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson nailed the depth chart topic

While everyone loves to read a bit too much into the depth chart, Wilson pretty much summed it up when stating that ‘the best (expletive) will play, period.’ That’s how it’s going to go at every position, and why reading too much into depth charts currently isn’t the best idea.5

5. Nelson Spruce looks every bit the part of an NFL receiver

Watching it back all over again, it was hard not to love Spruce’s game. He was consistent and just looked like a legitimate NFL player. He took advantage of everything that came his way, and most importantly stepped up when the team needed a big play over and over again. As Jon Gruden put it ‘Nelson Spruce has been the best Ram on the field.’
