North Texas-based bantamweight Randy Villarreal was spirited in defeat Saturday night against Nick Mamalis at Bring the Thunder MMA: Genesis in Pueblo, CO.
Despite an impressive opening round Villarreal would appear to suffer some effects of the high altitude and in fatigue was caught in a rear naked choke that ended the fight in the second round.
Villarreal will look to rebound from this loss when he travels to McAllen, TX in November.
