Against my better judgement I decided to post this utter garbage of an overview of the Rangers prospects by Chris Pronman at Hockey Prospectus who calls the Rangers system fairly average.
Pronman, who puts the Rangers at #21 in his organizational rankings, feels that too many of the Rangers top talents are still of the project variety or simply don’t have a desirable enough ceiling.
Here is Pronman’s Top 10…
1. Tim Erixon, Defense
2. Chris Kreider, Left Wing
3. Dylan McIlrath, Defense
4. Michael St. Croix, Center
5. Carl Hagelin, Left Wing
6. Jesper Fasth, Right Wing
7. Christian Thomas, Right Wing
8. Dale Weise, Right Wing
9. J.T. Miller, Center*
10. Ryan Bourque, Left Wing
Hockey’s Future says the Rangers have the 7th best organization in the NHL.
…man I thought the Stepan Sophomore jinx article was bad. Is this Pronman character kidding me saying the Rangers system is fairly average? I will put the Rangers defensive prospects against any others in the league. And how is Valentenko or Kundratek not in the Top 10? No offense to Weise and St. Croix but they don’t belong on this list.
…when you’re off by 14 spots from the highly respected Hockey’s Future you know you’re doing a bad job.
…if you want a good laugh definitely check out his analysis of each of the Top 10 including that Erixon’s shot isn’t much of a weapon, Kreider has no hockey sense and Thomas shoots too much. Yeah we Rangers fans hate players that shoot too much.
