Update, 6:58 p.m.:
Darren Dreger at TSN reports that Columbus upped their already steep asking price for Nash today.
…guess Howson thought Nash’s shorthanded goal today was worth another prospect. Greed gets you nowhere.
Update, 6:52 p.m.:
Sportsnet reporting the Rangers are out of Nash sweepstakes.
…looks like neither Sather nor Howson would budge from their demands. No idea who the Rangers go after now. Kostitsyn?
Update, 5:18 p.m.:
Katie Strang at ESPN NY reports that while things could always change, at this point doesn’t appear Nash to Rangers is going to happen.
…not going to get excited until 3:01 p.m. tomorrow.
Original Post:
David Pagnotta at The Fourth Period reports that the Rangers are looking at other options other than Rick Nash with secondary scoring and a bottom pair defenseman on their list.
…they better be, because they could use some additional offense and if they can’t get Nash I’d hate from them to have done nothing at the deadline.
Meanwhile, Bob McKenzie at TSN feels the fact that Nash played today proves that a deal isn’t close to happening.
…good point by McKenzie, although I think Columbus might have played him to keep the few teams in the mix guessing.
