Obviously, the significant news is that the Rangers have waived Tanner Glass once again and he’ll be headed to Hartford. So maybe there is some hope after all for the Rangers to have four lines of skill.
Gerbe might be referred as a cap casualty who really couldn’t settle in anywhere on the lineup. There’s a chance here, and this is just me speculating, that Gerbe and the Rangers could mutually terminate his contract allowing Gerbe to go to Europe or elsewhere which has been rumored.
The other two cuts, Boo Nieves and Magnus Hellberg were no surprises and they’ll have important roles in Hartford.
For now the roster remains set at 24, with the Rangers having one more move to make once Oscar Lindberg comes off IR and is healthy and ready to go. It appears that the Rangers are going to keep eight defensemen barring anything unforeseen moving forward. Your thoughts on this lineup?
