According to QuantHockey.com, the Rangers have the third youngest average age of NHL team rosters for the 2011-12 regular season with an average age of 26.622 years.
The analysis only takes into account players who are part of the current roster: If a player is traded to another team, he is excluded from the average age of the old team and added to the age of the new team.
…despite my constant rants that the Richards acquisition will halt the Rangers youth movement, I’ve got to give Sather and Torts all the credit in the world for turning this roster into a group of young exciting players.
