Rangers Will Be Road Warriors to Start 2011-12 Season

Larry Brooks at the New York Post reports that the Madison Square Garden renovations will force the Rangers on an extended road trip beyond starting the season in Europe.

Brooks says the Blueshirts will spend approximately the final two weeks of training camp in Europe, where they will play a handful of exhibition games before opening the NHL season with a pair in Stockholm against the Kings and Ducks and then play another six to eight games on the road, including what is believed a trip to western Canada.

…hope they get frequent flyer miles. If nothing else it should be a great bonding experience for the team. Although, if you’re hanging around the same group of guys for a month straight you might get sick of one another. Let’s hope it’s the former.
