Rangers Will Not Put Kennedy on Re-Entry Waivers (Updated)

Update, 2:03 p.m.:
Andy Strickland now tweets “To say the Rangers have not told Tim Kennedy’s he can seek a trade is inaccurate.”

…not sure what to believe now.

Sather:NYR have NOT told Tim Kennedy or agent they would put him on re-entry for trade. “Not a chance” GM tells Post.less than a minute ago via web

If Kennedy was claimed the Rangers would be responsible for half his salary.

This report contradicts Andy Strickland’s tweet stating the Rangers gave Kennedy permission to seek a trade.

…i’d have to think he would be claimed so Sather is smart not to put him on. Sort of sucks for Kennedy, but no need to pay the salary of a player not even on the team.
