Felix Doubront suffered his worst outing of the year against the Rangers in Arlington. Texas tagged Doubront for six earned runs in three and two thirds innings. The Red Sox were in the game until the fourth where Adrian Beltre hit a bases clearing double and by the time the inning was over the Sox trailed 6-0. They would add one more in the fifth to take a 7-0 lead and that would be it for the scoring.
The Red Sox offense failed to push a run across the plate on just 6 hits (all singles). Ellsbury was the only member of the club with two hits on the night.
As bad as the 7-0 shutout was for Boston, it could have been much worse; the Rangers left 19 runners on base in the game. Former Red Sox Adrian (don't touch my head) Beltre went 4-5 in the game.
