Larry Brooks at the New York Post reports that the Rangers’ discussions with Anaheim this week regarding a possible trade for Bobby Ryan never reached the stage where the clubs exchanged proposals.

Brooks adds that the Ducks never identified the Ranger players they wanted, while Glen Sather never made a concrete proposal, though it is believed he established general parameters about who he might be willing to give up.

…i’ve seen other reports that said Ducks did make specific requests so it’s hard to really know what was discussed, but I guess it doesn’t really matter since Ryan’s off the market now.

…all I know is that the Rangers have won 11 of their last 13 without Ryan, so there was no great urgency to add him to the team.
