The Toronto Raptors visited the Indiana Pacers and their former teammate Leandro Barbosa, but came up on the losing end 103-98.
The Pacers seemed to have control throughout the game and had a 10 point cushion most of the way. The Raptors got within 3 points by a Calderon 3 pointer with 7.9 seconds left, making it 101-98, but the Pacers had final possession and put the game away with a dunk by Paul George.
The Raptors shared the ball and had solid contributions from every player who got a decent amount of playing time, but it just wasn’t enough to get the win.
Alan Anderson had a strong game, who’s now started for four straight games as a Raptor. He scored 17 points, including going 4 for 4 from deep. Amir Johnson also started for the first time in 10 games, and scored 16 points (on 7-9 from the field), grabbed 7 boards, and dished out 3 assists. Ed Davis was fantatsic for Toronto tonight in a reserve role, scoring 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds in only 17 minutes of play. Jose Calderon was the floor general, as usual, finding teammates for easy shots. He had 14 assists, and added 8 points. DeMar DeRozan had 10 points, Gary Forbes had 9, and Linas Kleiza had 18, including 10-10 from the free throw line.
Leandro Barbosa had 14 points for the Pacers in his familiar 6th man role, while as starters George Hill had 18 points, Paul George had 15, and Danny Granger had 18.
As anticipated, Andrea Bargnani did not play for the Raptors, as he was held out of the game after experiencing issues with his previous injured calf muscle in their last game vs. Oklahoma City.
After going on a 3 game winning streak, the Raptors have now lost their 3rd straight game. They will have a chance to try and ‘right the ship’ on Wednesday night when they face the Philadelphia 76ers at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
