For a second, I thought I was watching a 2008-09 Orlando Magic game. My brain fart ended when I clued in that Hedo was wearing Raptor’s red and Dwight Howard looked slimmer and with dreads because he was Chris Bosh.
Toronto played a solid 48-minute game and used a lights out 3rd quarter to knock out New Orleans early and cruised to a 107-90 win. The Hornets were outscored 34-14 in the third as the Raptors played some solid D to go with their hot shooting. The Raptors had 8 three pointers in the 3rd quarter, finishing 14-29 overall from behind the arc. With the win well in hand, I was able to make use of my NBA League Pass Broadband to watch Kid Canada and the Suns hand the Celtics their first loss of the season.
Chris Bosh was a perfect 9-9 from the field, finishing with 27 points and 7 boards. He also hit a 3 during the 3rd quarter run, putting him at 4-4 from behind the arc this season. If my math is correct, at this rate, he would finish the season a perfect 66-66 from 3-point land. Take THAT Reggie Miller and Larry Bird… and Craig Hodges with your NBA jersey!
Turkoglu finished with 16 points including 4-8 from the arc, “Chairman of the Boards” Bargnani just missed his second double double of the season with 16 point 9 boards, including 3-6 from the arc and Jose Calderon had his best game of the season with 16 points, 8 assists and a steal. This came at a good time, what with the way Chris Paul has been playing and jawing at people.
The blowout win enabled Bosh, Bargnani, Calderon and Turkoglu to sit out much of the 4th quarter, which is key with a game in Dallas tomorrow night and 6 of their next 7 being on the road.
