Rasheed Wallace's Numbers Don't Lie

Former Detroit Piston Rasheed Wallace was called out by his current Celtics coach Doc Rivers on Sunday.  Boston lost game one against the Cavaliers on Saturday, and when asked specifically after the game about Rasheed’s playoff production (or lack thereof), Rivers didn’t mix his words:

“He has to play better defense — the offense will come — but he has to be a better defender. And we can’t wait for him. He has to be a better defender for us.”

Wallace is averaging a paltry 3.5 points and 2 rebounds during the 2010 playoffs.  When compared to his career playoff averages of 14.2 and 6.5, the decline in production glaringly evident.

I always liked Rasheed in Detroit, but it seems they may have ditched him at just the right time.  I hate to say it, but your numbers are like the ball Sheed, they don’t lie.
