Ray Will Give It A Go Tonight

The flu bug that made its way through the Celtics locker room has apparently been followed by the thumb injury bug.  Seriously… what the hell is up with two Celtics guards getting thumb injuries within days of each other?  Luckily, this only affects guys named "Allen"… so this should be the end of it.  And Ray's might not be as serious as Tony's (although TA's is on his non-shooting hand).

Ray hurt his thumb when it got caught up in Perk's jersey.  But he's going to try to play tonight.

"I'm going to get out there, work out, and see how it feels," said Allen. "I've had jammed fingers before. But I think the thumb, I wouldn't say it's jammed but it's sprained. I never really had sprained fingers, but jammed fingers. Never my thumb."

Doc might just try to play it safe and give Ray the night off regardless.  Then Ray can pull out of the All Star game like we all want him to.  Maybe Rondo can take his place.

Other injury updates:  Tony Allen will be re-evaluated on Monday.  And Brian Scalabrine will return to practice on Tuesday.
