Tampa Bay Rays prospect Ryan Brett made a lot of pre-season “best of” lists. Unfortunately, it had nothing to do with the second baseman’s .297 career batting average through five minor league seasons.
The fuss was all about Brett’s impressive lower face foliage.
On Monday, however, after being sent to the team’s minor league camp, the “Duck Dynasty” lookalike was forced to adhere to Tampa Bay’s facial hair ban and, you guessed it…shave off his beard.

But, like a pro, Brett took the bad news in stride.
“I kept it as long as I could,” Brett said of his former chin chia. “And I saved it in a bag.”
Something tells me that beard will be back.
