“Accidental bump maybe,” Mathis said. “You get a tongue-lashing from the coaches on that, so you try to stay away from that.”
Dwight Freeney isn’t quite so circumspect.
“I try to throw him a little elbow every once in a while when I run by sometimes,” the Colts other Pro Bowl end said. “It’s well-known you’re not supposed to hit him. Yeah, the 5-yard halo.”
There will be no halo this week, in a manner of speaking. The New York Giants
visit Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday night and Eli Manning will be under center.
“If I can’t hit (Peyton),” Freeney said, “at least I can hit his brother.”
