Real truth behind the Penn signing

Real truth behind the Penn signing
Penn is back to blocking the blind side, but who won in the negotiations?
There will tons of opinions on the signing of Donald Penn at the last minute; Mark Dominik is a weak GM for caving in, Penn is a weak person for caving in, Penn won the day, etc. The truth of the matter is no one of us really know what goes on behind closed doors. We simply rely on information that the Bucs, and the players, give us. And for the most part, that info is usually incomplete. The real truth is that Penn knew where his bottom line was, and so did the Bucs. They just didnt know each others and neither did we. Penn has said he did not want to hold out, and in the end told his agent to get something done. It’s more likely the Bucs came out a little bit ahead in the negotiations, probably by a million or so dollars a year. At the same time , Donald Penn got what he wanted; he is now considered a career left tackle, a position most teams look to in the draft, and now, have to protect Josh Freeman’s blind side. And so the truth behind the Penn signings? Who won? Why, We did as fans, of course!
