Ray, Rondo and Sheed dominate Cavs

Rajon

What's a Celtics victory without a minor heart attack? Who cares that the Celtics let a 25 point lead dwindle to 10 in the 4th quarter? In the end, the Celtics pulled away (104-86) and evened the series 1-1.

Rajon Rondo (13 points, 19 assists – 2 more than the entire Cavs team) and Ray Allen (22 points, 8-15 FG, 7 rebounds) were the keys to victory. They led the way as the Celtics throttled the Cavs 31-12 in the 3rd quarter. Ray had 10 points in the quarter, Rondo had 7 dimes.

Sheed was HUGE tonight. He had 17 points on 7-8 FG. His offense (13 points in the 2nd quarter) carried the second unit.

KG overcame a horrible 1st half and finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Credit goes to Rondo who hit Garnett with three lob passes which led to buckets early in the 3rd. I don't like the fact that KG took 21 shots. I felt like the Cs went to him too many times in the 4th quarter.

Tempers flared a bit in the 3rd quarter. Perk and Andy Varejao were hit with double technicals for a minor scrum. A minute later, Varejao got a flagrant one for a rough foul on Ray Allen. Andy left the game in the 3rd with back spasms and did not return.

Speaking of injuries… LeBron finished with 24 points (7-15 FG), 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Marv Albert and Reggie Miller insist his elbow injury is a major factor. Anyone notice how the talk about the elbow ceased when LeBron was leading the Cavs comeback in the 4th, but immediately returned once the Celtics returned to form?

Mo Williams (4 points, 1-9 FG) crashed back down to earth.

You gotta be impressed with the Celtics rebounding (43-32 advantage).

The Celtics nearly had twice as many fouls as the Cavaliers (31-16).
