After a lack-luster first half, the Celtics were in danger of becoming the first victim of the 0-10 76ers. But Brad Stevens said something to the boys in the locker room and the C’s responded. Boston protected the ball, eliminated Philly’s second chance opportunities and, most importantly, kept running in the 2nd half.
The 101-90 victory snapped a three game losing streak and extended Philly’s winless start.
The Green:
Jared Sullinger scored 18 of his 22 points in the 2nd half. Brandon Bass had a game (and season) high 23 points on 9-13 FG.
Marcus Thornton chipped in 13 points off the bench.
The Gross:
Evan Turner was 0-4 in 15 minutes. Maybe he was bothered by the silly boos from the Philadelphia crowd. Sixers fans realize Turner was traded, right?
Rajon Rondo rolled his ankle pretty good in the 3rd quarter. He stayed in the game but was limping at times.
I’ll give Avery Bradley a pass for a rough shooting night (3-11), but he continues to make sloppy cross-court passes.
I feel asleep for most of the 4th quarter. Damn, I’m old.
