Now that was fun. The Celtics demolished the Hawks for 48 minutes tonight and took a commanding 3-1 lead in the series.
I don't know where to begin. The Celtics dominated from the start. The lead was 13 after one, 23 at the half and 37 in the 3rd quarter. They dominated every phase of the game.
Rajon Rondo (20 points, 8-11 FG, 16 assists, 3 steals, 1 TO) and Paul Pierce (24 points, 10-13 FG in 18 minutes) kicked ass.
The only hiccup was Pierce's knee injury. It looked like he bumped knees in the 2nd quarter. I'm guessing he'll be fine.
UPDATE: Pierce said he sprained the knee during the shoot around and reaggravated the injury during the game.
This wire-to-wire blowout was exacly what the doctor (Rivers) ordered. While Rondo played 35 minutes, all the other major players logged fewer than 30 minutes.
In the history of the league, only 8 teams have won a series after trailing 3-1. Tuesday night is time for the Celtics to finish the Hawks.
