The Boston Celtics came out firing on all cylinders tonight and never looked back. C’s beat the Sixers 92-79 at TD Garden. The Celtics were definitely all business tonight after losing a real tough one in Philly on Friday. Boston’s smothering defense held Philly to just 28 first-half points. It was the usual suspects as KG (19), Truth (13) and Bass (10) all scored in double-figures. Rajon Rondo tallied 7 pts, 11 dimes, 9 boards & 3 steals in another solid game. Jeff Green (more on him in a moment) was huge with 16 points off the bench. Thaddeus Young led Philly, and all scorers, with 22.
The Green: Jeff Green had his best and most efficient offensive game this season. JG put in 16 big points on 7 of 12 shooting in 23 minutes. He was aggressive, yet patient, and really looked as comfortable as I’ve seen him. KG pumped-in 11 of his 19 points in the 3rd quarter where he was 5 for 5 from the floor. Just when Philly looked to be climbing back in the game, Ticket put on a clinic of mid-range jumpers. Man was that fun to watch. Also have to throw Sully in here-again. Jared had 7 points and 9 rebounds, and was just all over the floor in the 4th, where 5 of those boards came. Chris Wilcox was also very effective, going 4 of 5 for 8 points, 3 rebounds & 2 blocks in 18 minutes.
The Gross: The inevitable drought came in the 3rd quarter when the C’s relaxed a bit, allowing Philly to go on a 13-0 run. They managed to cut Boston’s lead to 8, and it was 65-57 C’s with 1:19 left in the 3rd. But Boston took over shortly after.

The Grid: (quick stats)
- KG went the entire game without a rebound for the first time since 1997
- Paul Pierce notched career assist 4,000
- Brandon Bass & Jason Terry both played better-combining for 8 of 17 from FG and Jet nailed 2 of 5 from 3pt.
Celtics now have another long 3 day-off stretch to rest and get ready for Dallas on Wednesday. Tip-off will be at 7:30pm on Wednesday night.
