Prior to tonight, I had only read about the Lakers woes. Now I can provide visual confirmation – they are awful.
The Celtics scored at will. You could count on an open 15-17 footer just about every possession. But the C’s didn’t settle. They continued the excellent ball movement (25 assists) and manhandled the Lakers, 116-95.
The Green:
How about that 3rd quarter? 37 points on 16-21 FG.
Paul Pierce was the best player on the court; 24 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 steal in 30 minutes. Just a fabulous all-around effort.
Jeff Green had 19 points and the highlight of the night. After a driving dunk, he raced the length of the court for a spectacular block at the rim on Antawn Jamison. If you can find the video, please forward along.
Avery Bradley deserves big props for his full-court harassment of Steve Nash.
The Gross:
There wasn’t much to complain about. Leandro Barbosa was the only Celtic held scoreless (0-6 FG), yet he did contribute 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal.
Greenlights:
KG surpasses 25,000 career points with turnaround jumper
Mike D’Antoni frowns…
The Grid:
- Jason Terry (15 points) was a game high +25
- The Celtics lead reached a high of 32 points (103-71) in the 4th quarter
- Fab Melo scored the first 2 points of his NBA career
