Even without Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, the Celtics were too good tonight for the Charlotte Bobcats. The C's won it, 94-82.
Avery Bradley (22 points, 9-14 FG, 2-3 3 FG) has my undying faith. When he takes pull-up jumpers on the break, or spots up in the corner for 3, I fully expect him to make the shot. Incredible.
Rajon Rondo (20 points, 16 assists, 6 rebounds, 8 TOs in 43 minutes) dominated this game. He was in complete control. I was stunned to see the 8 TOs in his stat line.
Greg Stiemsma (8 points, 6 blocks, 4 steals) was a shot-blocking fool. His best block was an at-the-rim rejection of Bismack Biyombo. The Steamer is also developing some swagger, and deservedly so.
Brandon Bass remains a consistent weapon. Tonight he dropped 22 and 9. Ho-hum.
The Celtics led this game by 6-10 points for most of the night. But there was no doubt in my mind they were going to win this game.
So much for the daunting schedule. The Celtics have played 10 games in 15 days and are 7-3.
The Celtics (36-25) are now a half-game better than the Hawks (35-25). The team with the better record gets home-court advantage in the first round.Boston plays in Atlanta on Friday night.
