Recap: Celtics win the must-win Game 3

First off, let me preface this blog by saying I’m heavily buzzed. It’s possible all of following will be deleted in the morning.

Secondly, what a freakin game! The real Celtics finally showed up at the tip. The defensive intensity was phenomenal and so was the shooting (at least for the 1st quarter). Led by Isaiah Thomas (career high 42 points), Boston raced out to a 37-20 1st quarter lead.

The Hawks won the next two quarters but Boston responded in the 4th. Just an old fashioned grit and balls performance. The crowd was phenomenal. Pretty sure the Hawks players were wondering, “What the hell is all this noise?”

This game was physical. The officials called 3 (legitimate) flagrant fouls. The chippiness started when Isaiah Thomas and Dennis Schroder got tangled up mid-court (video below). I’m worried the league might review the play and suspend Thomas one game.

Stevens shook up the starting line-up by inserting Jonas Jerebko (11 points, 12 rebounds) and Evan Turner (17 points, 7 assists). Jonas was a huge boost. He made several high-energy plays.

Just a great effort by the Celtics in a must-win game.

Gross

Poor Jae Crowder (4 points, 1-11 FG). The dude just can’t shoot.

I despite the double technical call. The league needs to abolish it immediately. It’s a crutch for the officials. Make them man up and whistle the instigator.

Greenlights

Let’s hope the league doesn’t suspend IT for this garbage
