What Jeff Green did to the Suns tonight wasn’t nice at all. Let’s just say Doc picked the right game to rest KG and start Jeff. The Suns had NO answers for Green as he dropped 31 on 11 of 14 shooting in a 113-88 win. And that was just the start. Let’s get to it…
The Green:
Never before has this section been more appropriately named. Jeff Green shit on the Suns tonight. The 31 points were just the start. He also had 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 blocks (though 3 came on 1 play), and 2 steals.
So let’s just put the final Jeff Green line here: 31 points (11-14 FG, 3-5 3pt), 6-7 FT, 7 reb, 4 ast, 5 blk, 2 stl, 1 TO, 1 PF
Goddam.
Also in the Green: Terrence Williams had a very nice game for the C’s. 9 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds in 13 minutes of play. He looked pretty good out there.
Chris Wilcox stepped up with 14 points… good for 2nd on the team. He also led the C’s with 8 rebounds.
I’ll give Jordan Crawford a little nod in his debut for dropping 10 points on 4-9 shooting. 2 of those attempts were buzzer beaters… so he actually shot very well.
The Gross:
The Phoenix Suns are a mess. A flat out mess. Other than that, I’m going to stay very positive about this game.
The Greenlights:
Jeff Green attacks and finishes with the reverse
[youtube id=”tuusDb8eBA0″ width=”620″ height=”360″]Chris Wilcox dunked all over the Suns… but there are no YouTube vids yet. If you find them, post them in the comments and we’ll update this later.
The Grid:
- The Celtics shot 56% for the game and held Phoenix to 41.7% shooting
- The Celtics only had 12 turnovers
- 5 Celtics (Green, Bradley, Terry, Wilcox, Crawford) scored in double figures
Notice I haven’t mentioned Paul Pierce yet? Coming into this game, without Garnett, you had to figure it would take a monster game from Pierce to win it.
Nope. 8 points on 5 shots. That means that the Celtics, without Rondo or Sullinger, and with KG resting… managed to win a game by 25 points with Pierce taking just 5 shots.
Phoenix is just terrible… but they’re still an NBA team. Nice all around contributions for the win.
