I’ll say this for the Boston Celtics, they didn’t give up. They were down 20 in the third quarter, but they made a big run to cut it to single-digits by the 4th. But the Celtics just couldn’t keep pace with Golden State. As Doc says, it’s a make/miss league, and the Celtics missed.. a lot… in a big loss to Golden State.
The Green
Jared Sullinger played his ass off tonight. Just played his ass off. Give the kid a gold star, a cookie, a trophy, and the starting PF job at this point. Just do it. Courtney Lee also stepped up in Rondo’s absence with 17 points on 6-13 shooting. Before the game he said he changed his mentality with Rondo out. I don’t want him to change it back.
The Gross
Paul Pierce was awful. Just awful. 4-20 for 13 points awful. Kevin Garnett got just 6 shots but also just 3 rebounds. Jason Terry was 6-19. Jeff Green was 2-11. They all, minus Lee and Sully, shot like total shit.

- Boston won points in the paint (30-24), second chance points (17-8), and only lost fast break points 12-10.
- Boston shot 36%. Non-Courtney Lee starters shot 13-45.
- The Celtics shot 5-22 (22.7%) from 3. Golden State hit 12-19 (63.2%).
This sucked, plain and simple. The C’s teased us with a big 3rd quarter run, but they never could get the big stops when they needed them.
