The Celtics took a 9 point lead into the half, but with about two and a half minutes to go in the third, the C’s hit the gas and left the Raptors in the rear view mirror. They crushed the Raps 112-88 for their 10th straight home win. The Celtics bench was a giant part of the blowout, outscoring the Raptors bench 58-29.
The Green:
Paul Pierce had a nice return from his day off, doing a little bit of everything with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
Jeff Green was pretty good tonight, I’d say. Check out this stat line: 20 points (7-14 fg, 1-2 3pt, 5-5 ft), 6 reb, 3 ast, 2 stl, 1 blk.
Brandon Bass did a nice job early being aggressive. He tailed off a bit in the second half, but he was very important early on. I think the 5-5 from the line shows he was attacking, and the 2 block and 5 rebounds show he was helping on D.
Jason Terry was distributing the ball nicely with a team-high 7 assists. That went nicely with his 12 points on 4-6 shooting.
Jordan Crawford did a nice job tonight… 12 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds is a fantastic line for him. Doc said he still thinks Crawford is trying to pass too much rather than be himself… but it’s nice to see he’s coming around. He’s still awkward to watch… I’m not sure he’s got full control of his limbs at all times… but he’s coming around.
The Gross:
Sebastian Telfair is still an immature idiot. He got 2 techs over the course of about 3 minutes because he didn’t like how Avery Bradley was defending him.
I could nitpick a few other things, but there was nothing overly gross about this game.
The Greenlights:
Paul Pierce with the wild And-1
[youtube id=”c3xmaLc8tXE” width=”620″ height=”360″]The Grid:
- Paul Pierce was 9-11 from the line
- The 34 free throw attempts was the third highest total for the C’s this season. Their 28 makes from the line is a season-high.
- Pierce played 23:47. Garnett played 20:15.
- 7 Celtics hit double figures
- Kevin Garnett is now 15th on the All Time scoring list, passing Jerry West.
- Pierce is now 20th on the All Time scoring list, passing Charles Barkley and 10th on All Time free throws made list, passing Allen Iverson.
The Celtics now get a couple of days off before facing the Bobcats on Saturday. KG didn’t rest tonight, but he only played 20 minutes, so it worked out nicely.
