Reckless driving charge costs Evans one game.

According to  Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports via twitter:

Sacramento’s Tyreke Evans has been suspended one game for pleading no contest to reckless driving in California.

No real surprise here. If you haven’t seen the footage, here it is:

The punishment fits the crime. The Sacramento Bee’s Ailene Voisin chimed in on the subject earlier in the month with this little ditty that lacked all perspective while ex-Bee columnist Marty McNeal had this to add in the same vein.

While I am not condoning this type of behavior, I am ready to move on. Evans, who turns 21 in September, made a mistake that many young drivers make. Luckily, no one was injured in the process but in the grand scheme of things, this will go down as a learning experience and a blip on what should be a very productive career.
