The Red Sox are tied for last place in the AL East and are sitting at .500. With half of the season gone they need to start winning right away. They do have a couple of good things going for them as they enter the second half: with the new wild card addition, the Red Sox are just 2.5 games behind a playoff spot. Additionally, they are about to get back to full strength. Ellsbury will join the team on Friday and Middlebrooks says he is ready to go. Crawford will join the Sox on Monday and Pedey will be eligible to come off of the DL on July 19th.
Everyone pointed to injuries as the cause of the mediocre first half. With the team back healthy it is time to get back on top.
