Hope springs eternal as the Red Sox begin spring training in Fort Myers but it is proving difficult to move beyond the events of last fall. Because many of the people involved did not address the issue at the end of the season, they are now forced to rehash it with the media upon their arrival to camp. First there was the Beckett semi mea culpa which may not have been enough for fans and the media. Then Carl Crawford arrived and quickly made it know that he was not happy with John Henry’s comments this past winter. John Henry then decided to clarify his remarks about Crawford to try to smooth things over. Henry also had to talk about Terry Francona in the media after a report that he was avoiding returning Tito’s calls. This is not exactly the fun start to spring baseball that fans are used to. Hopefully all of this should finally be in the rear view mirror when the Red Sox take on Northeasten on March 3rd.
