Ramon Ramiez let the Royals back in the game with a three run homer in the eighth. Bard and Paps came to the rescue and shut down the Royals comeback attempt.
The Red Sox feasted on Royals starter Gill Meche tagging him for eight hits and seven earned runs. Dustin Pedroia had four hits in the game including a homer, Betre had three. David Ortiz looked lost at the plate and earned a golden sombrero with four K’s.
Jacoby Ellsbury had to leave the game after a collision in right with Adrian Beltre who was tracking a ball into the outfield. The replays showed Ells taking a knee to the ribs. We’ll post an update once we learn more about the injury.
