David Ortiz continued to swing a hot bat as the Red Sox beat the Rays for the third straight day. Felix Doubront very well early but lost steam in the fifth. After the Rays tied the game at four in the top of the sixth, the Red Sox regained the lead in the bottom of the inning. Mike Aviles hit a home run in the seventh to give the Sox an insurance run.
Cody Ross had his second home run of the season today and Alfredo Aceves earned his second save.
