Josh Beckett did not fulfil his role as the stopper as the Red Sox lost again, this time to the maligned Indians in front of a crowd of about 4,000 people. Beckett looked good early but got into some trouble in the fourth and let the Tribe take the lead for good. He was over 100 pitches in the 5th inning and didn’t go any further. The Sox bullpen looked good in avoiding any more damage but the offense failed to deliver. Pedey had two of the team’s four hits, including one in the top of the ninth. Youk walked and Papi came up to bat as the go-ahead run but lined out to left to end the game.
Here are some bad numbers to throw at you:
Scutoaro is 0-10 on the season.
The Red Sox are batting .186 as a team.
No team that has gone 0-4 to start the season has gone on to win the World Series
