The Red Sox have fired pitching coach Bob McClure. In his first season with the Red Sox, McClure presided over an underachieving rotation and couldn’t get Bard or Beckett back on track. McClure was hired before Valentine this offseason. Assistant coach Randy Niemann will take over as pitching coach.
