On Sunday, it took the Sox 16 innings to score a run. Last night, the Sox scored 15 in the span of nine innings and that is without our DH. The difference between the two games could not be more staggering.

Wake took the mound and after he gave up 2 quick runs in the 1st inning, he seemed to be cruising along until he hit the 5th inning. That inning just seemed to have his number. Wake K’ed Pie to start the inning, however because of a passed ball Pie reached. That was followed by another K and then a HR by Hardy. Then Adam Jones homered as well. Then the wheels just seemed to come off for Wake. Wieters singled, Lee singled, Reynolds walked. Wake then gave up a 2 RBI double to Reimold to have the Os take the lead 7-6. Wake was done for the night and Dan Wheeler was on in relief.
However, the Sox bats got it done last night as well. The Sox already scored 6 runs before they even got to the 7th inning. Earlier in the game there were some nice HRs by Salty and Reddick. Trailing by a run, the bats needed to get to work again. In the 7th, the Sox tied up the game with an RBI single from Kevin Youkilis. In the 8th though, the Sox really got going. The Sox scored EIGHT runs in the 8th inning. It all started with a walk to Darnell McDonald. Then Scoots singled and Ells walked. The bases were loaded for Dustin Pedroia aka the Muddy Chicken. Pedey hit a 2 RBI double for the Sox to take the lead 9-7. Then the Os walked Gonzo and Youk hit a 2 RBI single to have the Sox lead 11-7. Reddick walks and Carl Crawford hit an RBI single. And then DMac came up to the plate again and hit a bases clearing RBI double to have the Sox leading 15-7.
The Os had a mini rally in their bones in the bottom of the 8th where they scored 3 runs off reliever Randy Williams, however that is all they could muster. Morales had a 1-2-3 9th inning and the Red Sox WIN!
