The Red Sox will open the 2009 season at home for the first time since 2002.
Their opponent will be (surprise!) the Tampa Bay Rays. They’ll then head west for a West Coast swing. Patriots’ Day will be celebrated against the Baltimore Orioles.
On April 24, the Yankees will come to town. On May 4, the Red Sox debut at the new Yankee Stadium. The Yankees’ last visit to Fenway will be the end of August while the Sox will visit Yankee Stadium Sept. 25-27.
The interleague opponents will be hosting the Mets, Marlins and Braves and traveling to Philly and and Atlanta. The Sox will also end the season at home with the Blue Jays and Indians rounding things out Sept. 28 to Oct. 4.
