Record Breaker: Red Wings Win 21st Straight Game at Joe Louis Arena

In a time span of roughly 2 minutes when I was browsing for, erm… blogging content, the Red Wings scored two goals (one a much needed slump buster by Henrik Zetterberg). After that, the Wings were on cruise control as they won their NHL record 21st straight game at home. Check the highlights below for more on tonight’s historic win.

As spiffy as Joey MacDonald looked during tonight’s effort (the Dallas goal was a heartbreaker), it will be interesting to see what the Red Wings are going to do with Jimmy Howard set to return on Sunday. Obviously, Howard will continue to get the lion’s share of ice time. My guess is that MacDonald will go back to Grand Rapids in order to stay in form in case unspeakable things were to happen again closer to playoff time.
