Red’s Army does the #IceBucketChallenge

ice bucket challenge

The Ice Bucket Challenge has grown into a phenomenon over the past couple months or so.  It’s a fun way to raise awareness and money for an insidious disease called ALS, or as most know it, Lou Gehrig’s disease.  A ton of Boston athletes have done it, including Rajon Rondo… who sent the challenge out to his teammates.

Red’s Army has a personal connection to ALS, so Chuck took the lead as you saw in The Morning Dump.

So, the rule is you have 24 hours to accept the challenge.  Oddly, as I was preparing to accept Chuck’s challenge, MassLive’s Jay King tossed a challenge my way too.

There’s nothing left to do but take the challenge myself.  Below is my short Instagram version.  The full video of the set up and my challenges is on Facebook.

So there it is.  My challenge goes out to the fellas at Celtics Blog and Celtics Hub to do their own Ice Bucket Challenge, post it, and raise some money to end ALS.

You can make a donation through the ALS association, or through many personal fundraising sites like that of Peter Frates, who is a 29-year-old former BC baseball player now battling ALS.  Let’s try to end this thing and find a cure.
