RedsArmy presents: FanFriday #40 “CelticNation Mississippi”

.

RedsArmy presents: FanFriday #40 Here’s a short profile of my man Ricas from Canton, Mississippi. After the all-star break, we’ll have another edition of “Celebrity Fan Friday“..

Ricas grew up in the 1980’s, so he is a big fan of the Bird, McHale & Parish era:

I’ve been a Celtics fan since I was 11 years old. Growing-up, I remember watching Larry Bird and Magic battle for supremacy in the 80’s. I loved watching Bird, and he’s always been one of my favorite Celtics. He was a hard nosed player for a hard nosed team. From watching them winning titles to struggling and losing players tragically like Bias and Lewis, I’ve witnessed it.

When Paul Pierce was drafted in 1998, Ricas immediately loved his tough, aggressive style of play. Truth became his favorite Celtic. Paul was on the Celtics through some of the franchise’s worst times. But he stuck it out and didn’t jump ship. In 2008, everything came full-circle, and it was evident that it was worth the wait:

Paul Pierce became my favorite player after he was drafted in ’98. He never gave up on the team and gave it all every night. My fondest Celtics memory has to be 2008. After all the losing and struggling, the Celtics were finally on top again! The C’s are about teamwork and grit-(and balls lol) that’s why they’re so important to me.
