AccuScore is forecasting a close game with the Arizona Cardinals winning 50% of simulations, and the Washington Redskins 50% of simulations. In close games, turnover margin is especially important. The Arizona Cardinals commit fewer turnovers in 51% of simulations and they go on to win 66% when they take care of the ball. The Washington Redskins wins 69% of the simulations in which they commit fewer turnovers. Kevin Kolb is averaging 254 passing yards per sim. If he can have a great game with better than average passing yards and at least a 2 to 1 TD to INT ratio (34% chance) then he helps his team win 62%. Tim Hightower is averaging 74 rushing yards per sim. If he can have a great game with better than average rushing yards and at least a 1 rushing TD (37% chance) then he helps his team win 72%.
It is a small surprise that AccuScore has Tim Hightower, not Rex Grossman, as the key player for the Redskins. It is no surprise that Kevin Kolb is the guy for Arizona. The Redskins last saw Kolb in 2010 Week 4 in Philadelphia after they knocked Michael Vick out of the game. Kolb completed 62.9 percent of his passes for 201 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 INT and he took a sack. Washington upset the Eagles who were off balance without Vick.
The Cardinals last faced Rex Grossman in 2006. Grossman had a poor day that afternoon as the Cards built a 20-0 halftime lead. Then Arizona’s gaffs allowed two fumble returns for touchdowns and a Devin “you are ridiculous” Hester 83-yard punt return to score. The Bears gained a win and football culture gained coach Denny Green’s memorable meltdown.
The Cardinals’ suspect defense allowed 422 yards and two TDs by Carolina Panthers rookie QB Cam Newton last week. Few outside of Washington expected the Redskins to beat the Giants. That may have factored in AccuScore’s Week Two simulation. The Redskins are listed as 4-point favorites.

My long years as a fantasy ‘baller tells me that “Questionable” pro players will play. Mike Shanahan said that Orakpo and Landry are game day decisions. Orakpo is expected to play. The ‘Skins will hold Landry out until the Dallas game next week, according to numerous media reports.
