At the end of this article, you will find a video @FanSince09 made to honor Chase Utley’s career in Philly. Please watch that, and consider possibly making a small donation to him. However much money he has left over, he will donate to the charity of his choosing.

Chase Utley is now a Los Angeles Dodger. It hit me when Chase wasn’t on the diamond when I tuned in to watch the Phillies play the Marlins tonight. Utley was arguably the most beloved player to ever put on a Phillies uniform. He will be throughly missed by everyone in Philadelphia, and Phillies fans everywhere.

In honor of his stellar career with the Phillies, I am looking back at his 5 greatest moments.

5. “World F***ing Champions”

This was the climax of one of the best eras in Phillies history. Winning the World Series in 2008, and the celebration that followed. Utley rarely said anything to the public, but when he finally did, he made a big splash.

4. “Chase Utley, You Are The Man”

This iconic quote from the legendary Harry Kalas truly sums up Chase Utley. He’s everything a great Philadelphia athlete is. He is, the man.

3. Chase Utley’s Slew of Home Runs in the 2009 World Series

Chase Utley SHOULD co-own the nickname Mr. October. In the 2009 World Series, versus the New York Yankees of all teams, Chase “The Man” Utley hit 5 home runs, tying only Reggie Jackson for the most homers in a single World Series. Those moments were perfect. Well, they would’ve been if Joe Buck wasn’t on the call.

2. Chase’s Inside-The-Park Home Run

This might have been the single most impressive thing Chase has done in his entire career to date. This inside-the-parker showcased his hustle, heart, and passion, that he played with night in and night out.

1. Utley’s Game 5 Saving Heads Up Play

This play showcases how Utley played to the max. He fielded the ball, saw he has no play at first, so he deked the throw, and fired a perfect ball right to Chooch. This play turned out to be the one we all remembered from the ’08 World Series. It was smart and clutch, and of course Chase did it in style.
