On Thursday night, The Philadelphia 76ers will play one final game in Salt Lake City, Utah against the Jazz, before departing for the Las Vegas Summer League. Since the Sixers are playing in two summer leagues, the roster will be going through some changes as some players will be playing in Las Vegas and others will not.
According to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders, guard Brandon Paul will be playing with the Sixers in the Las Vegas Summer League. Currently, Paul is playing with the Charlotte Hornets in the Orlando Pro Summer League, which will be wrapping up in a couple of days.
Thus far, in the Orlando Pro Summer League, Paul is averaging 15.3 points on 41.7 percent shooting from the field, 7.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 32.5 minutes per game. If his name sounds familiar, it’s because he played for the University of Illinois from 2009-2013.
According to Kennedy, the 6-foot-4, 201-pound Paul is receiving serious interest from three NBA teams due to his play in the Orlando Pro Summer League. Before playing in the OPSL, Paul played in the NBA D-League and overseas the last couple of seasons.
This past season with FIATC Joventut of the ACB League, Paul averaged 13.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 23.1 minutes per game. He also shot 38.7 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from three-point range.
Then in the 2014-15 season, Paul played with the Canton Charge on the NBA D-League and averaged 15.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 26.3 minutes per game. With the Charge, he also shot 46.5 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from three-point range.
If you haven’t seen Paul play, check out the video below, where the Hornets took on the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier today. Paul is a shooter and that is something the Sixers are continuously looking to add to their roster.
