Many people expected Carmelo Anthony to make his decision yesterday between the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers. That hasn’t happened yet because there is word going around that Anthony could be waiting to see what happens in Miami with the Big 3.
Here is more from ESPN.com’s Marc Stein:
Popular question raised by last five teams I’ve talked to: Is Melo holding out in hopes Bosh goes to Houston so he can join LeBron in Miami?
— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) July 8, 2014
This is interesting because there seems like there is a growing mutual interest between the Houston Rockets and Chris Bosh. Bosh obviously doesn’t want to leave Miami but Houston wants the big man as they can offer him a four-year, $88 million deal. If your Bosh do you stay with Miami and take less money or do go to Houston and take the max contract? If I was him I would go to Houston.
If Bosh decides to go to Houston then that opens the door for Melo to Miami. But Anthony wouldn’t fit in with Miami because he is a small forward which is the same position LeBron plays unless you make Carmelo the point forward in that offense.
I don’t see this possibly happening but hey players talk at this time of the year about playing together and it’s not surprising Melo is thinking about playing in South Beach. The better option for Carmelo Anthony would be the Knicks, Bulls, or Lakers. The ball is in your court Carmelo, don’t drop it.
